Nacerima Dissertation

As I was reading this article I could certainly not help nevertheless wonder if Thompson was talking about a real tradition or if this was a piece of hype. I could not really understand why this Nacerima culture would want to change the environment a lot. I was as well wondering how a culture that was ancient enough being studied throughout the artifacts that were discovered through exploratory digs could possibly be advanced enough to obtain electronic security systems, erected metal sculptures in the sea, and box-like pictures that obtain transmitted digital –impulse photos. I was initially, picturing a great Indian-like tribe. When Thompson explained the value of the Elibomotua during mating rituals and courtship I think, " This Elibomutua seems very similar to a vehicle. ” Simply then, I had developed an epiphany. Elibomutua is automobile spelled backwards and Nacerima is usually American spelled backwards. Then i proceeded to reread the article with my own newfound expertise.

The article was drafted from a futurological standpoint and is a foresight into what could eventually the American culture. I think his objective was to reveal that if we stay on the current course we would result in our own annihilation. We are eliminating our environment just to change our surroundings in to what we think is more esthetically pleasing. Certainly with Thompson's evaluation from the Nacerima traditions and patterns. We are not able to exist about only man-made products. By simply altering the environment we are changing the quality of the actual things we need for our survival. Anything that we do has an influence on something else. The cars that we easily drive daily are damaging the air in which we breathe in. Not convinced? Just take a look at global warming. Were responsible. Looking over this article was a real eye opener and this caught me a little off guard. We should take even more responsibility and provide...
