Although there are many similarities and connections between Bourdieu's idea of handeln and Williams' notions of hegemony and structure of feeling, in addition there are many differences. Through a short discussion of the three concepts, the reasons why hegemony and structure of feeling would seem to concern habitus, instead of support it, will become obvious. Bourieu's notion of habitus is one among a way of organizing everything in regards to set of assumptions about a place. The interpersonal practices, and assumptions regarding those techniques, make up handeln. It is a social construction that is the reason for certain interpersonal norms or perhaps behaviors, though it feels even more innate than that; persons do not have to talk about the methods because everyone does them out of social behavior. Habitus may be the " flow” of world that is overlooked. There are many similarities between Bourdieu's notion of habitus and Williams' notion of hegemony. Williams' idea of Hegemony is a critical concept broader than traditional ideology and takes a consider the problems with ideology. Under the notion of hegemony, is definitely the idea that there exists never total or total domination; often there is a counter-hegemony, that which withstands is. Hegemony includes sociable practices and what we consider " common sense, ” which is similar to what habitus involves with society's " flow. ” Habitius also has a sense of control, just like hegemony truly does, but habitus has a even more structural feeling. It takes a closer look at the associations between what folks think, closer to the way ideology does, not merely the cultural practices. One more of Williams' notions can be structure of feeling, yet whereas hegemony would seem to aid Bourdieu's notion of habitus, composition of feeling seems to obstacle it.
