Pride and Prejudice: The Importance of Marriage

Take great pride in and Prejudice is authored by Jane Austen with the aim of positioning us, as readers, to share her attitudes around the importance of marital life. Austen had extremely revolutionary views for her time. The girl believed that marriage probably should not occur because of superficial emotions, pressures to marry, or perhaps wealth and social position. The author thought that one will need to only get married to for like. Austen uses characters as literary products to show your readers the juxtapositioning between interactions who have wedded for take pleasure in and relationships which have married for alternative reasons. Simply by influencing your readers to believe that marriage will need to only be to get love we all begin to understand that it is this, and only this kind of, which can enable the heroes of the story to be happy.

The first sentence of the novel Pride and Prejudice illustrates the importance of marriage inside the world of the novel. The sentence shows that the sole purpose for marriage was to improve the characters interpersonal and monetary ranking. The quote mentions nothing of love yet that provokes the impression in the minds of the readers that the aim of marriage is to merely produce security. Finding a suitable marriage for the feminine characters whom lived in a patriarchal world often became the comfort of their lives. The character of Elizabeth Bennet does not match this generalization.

At the Bennet is known as a literary gadget used by Her Austen to represent her ideals and perceptions on the importance of marrying to get love.
